Impressions:
Well, what to say about Fürstenflagge ? First, i nearly missed
it, the village is very small and the fact, that in 1871 it had
more than 399 inhabitants (census data) is hard to believe. I
only saw four or five houses and the old "Gutsbezirk"
is nearly in ruins. In the year 2000 only 10 inhabitants lived in
Fürstenflagge. One of the villages, where i asked myself: what
to take pictures of here ? It looks like the people cannot live
from farming in this part of the Gollnow region anymore. When
driving further west to Langenhagen and the coast of
"Dammscher See" nothing grows on the former fields of
the farmers anymore.
Fürstenflagge was typical for the villages, where the young
people don't see a future perspective anymore and move to the
bigger towns like Gollnow or Stettin.
Fürstenflagge has no own church and the former cemetary south of
the village has disappeared.
